Meet Abbie Clark,
Director, Health and Social Policy

Abbie is a strategy and public policy executive with 20 years’ experience in health, community services and welfare policy at both Commonwealth and State levels.  

She brings a deep understanding of government policy and budgeting processes from a range of perspectives with experience at senior levels in government, consulting and not for profit organisations. 

After her early career in the Australian Public Service, Abbie served as Policy Adviser then Chief of Staff to the then Minister for Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs and the Minister for Disability Reform. For the last decade, Abbie has held executive leadership roles at St Vincent’s Health Australia – the largest not for profit hospital and aged care provider in Australia – where she managed strategy and corporate affairs portfolios.  

Abbie is a trusted strategic advisor to executive teams and boards, skilled at synthesising and analysing policy and funding impacts to drive both internal strategy and external engagement. Most passionate about the complex social issues that disproportionally drive disadvantage, Abbie brings her policy and advocacy expertise to support organisations and coalitions to build impactful cases for change. 

Abbie holds a Bachelor of Social Science (UNSW) and a Masters of Public Policy (ANU), and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

My experience of being on the client side of consulting with varying levels of impact, has made me unashamedly ruthless in my own consulting to deliver an efficient process with evidence-based, high-impact deliverables.
