Kokoda College Evaluation

Summary

The purpose of this evaluation is to examine the impact and effectiveness of the Kokoda College Flexible Open and Distance Learning Education (FODE) program in supporting pathways for people into formal, second-chance education and then onto tertiary training and careers in teaching and health work.

Findings

The review found that students were very well supported to upgrade their studies through Kokoda College.

A high proportion of enrolled students complete a full academic year. Disadvantaged groups (including women, people with disabilities, rural/remote students) feel supported to participate thanks to KTF’s support for safe transport and accommodation, and provision of tablets and lighting. The review makes several recommendations in terms of improved monitoring of outcomes and closer consultation with key stakeholders.
